What happened to Lexie and Eargo?

Last updated: November 2026.

If anything here has changed, for example a brand acquired or support restored, that update belongs on this page, and we will add it when it is confirmed, not rumoured.

Lexie and Eargo were, until recently, two of the most recommended over-the-counter brands in the United States. They are no longer recommendations on this site, and the reason is not that their hearing aids got worse. It is that the company behind them stopped being able to support them.

The short version

Lexie Hearing and Eargo merged, with hearX, into a company called LXE Hearing. In July 2026, LXE announced it was winding down its U.S. operations, after restructuring efforts and attempts to find a buyer did not produce a viable path forward.

HearingTracker, reporting the announcement on July 15, 2026, said it could not currently recommend purchasing Lexie, Eargo, or Go Hearing products, because of unresolved questions about apps, support, warranty administration, and replacement parts.

LXE said customer service would remain available through at least September 15, 2026, and that warranty claims submitted through that date would be processed. After that date, support, warranty service, replacement parts, and app availability were not guaranteed. Later reporting put the end of Eargo customer and technical support, and the removal of the Eargo app from app stores, in October 2026.
